Will the Welsh Government provide an update on the future energy grids for Wales project, and what work has been undertaken to understand whether cable ploughing is technically possible and can be more extensively adopted across Wales?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Energy and Planning
The Independent Advisory Group on Future Electricity Grid for Wales has been convened and is meeting on a regular basis to take forward work to understand the possible approaches to delivering electricity transmission and distribution infrastructure.
To build an evidence base to support recommendations for principles for the most appropriate solutions for Wales, relevant organisations and experts are being invited to present to the group. This includes on the issue of cable ploughing. The group will report in early 2025.
