What steps is the Cabinet Secretary taking to inform people of the dangers of level crossings?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Secretary for Transport and North Wales
Level crossings can be dangerous places and it is not possible to irradicate all risks. That’s why we want to make sure all level crossing users know how to use level crossings safely.
Transport for Wales works collaboratively with industry stakeholders such as Network Rail and the British Transport Police to raise awareness of level crossing safety. This includes proactive safety campaigns and engagement with local communities and schools, such as the recent launch of the Rail Safe Friendly programme in Wales. I will be visiting a school in North Wales next month to help raise awareness as part of that campaign.
