According to the latest population migration data available for the UK, Wales had the lowest share of its population emigrating internationally of all UK countries. In terms of internal UK migration patterns between Wales and the rest of the UK, Wales has actually seen a net increase of basic rate, higher rate, and additional rate taxpayers in the latest periods for which data is available.
Our Young Person’s Guarantee (YPG) illustrates our commitment to young people in Wales, helping them succeed despite the wider challenges impacting the employment market across the UK. The YPG continues to demonstrate strong progress with over 42,000 young people having accessed skills and employment opportunities since its launch in November 2021.
We continue to develop policies that deliver on the things we know that our population value, such as high-quality education, good jobs, and affordable housing. The Economic Mission has all of these, and more, at the core of its objectives.
