Will the rate provided under the childcare offer for Wales increase proportionately to cover the increase in employer national insurance contributions?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Minister for Children and Social Care
National Insurance is a non-devolved tax and the responsibility of the UK Government, as is employment allowance.
On December 11, I published a Written Statement detailing the outcome of the latest review of the hourly rate paid to childcare providers who deliver the Childcare Offer. My officials will be publishing a technical note in due course which demonstrates the approach taken to the revised rate for 2025-26.
