What assessment has the Welsh Government made of the merits of imposing a cap on exit payments made to Welsh Government civil servants and council officers?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Welsh Language
The legislation and rules surrounding civil service exit payments are not devolved. How the UK Government rules are applied to the Welsh Government’s civil service is a matter for the Permanent Secretary. Local authorities, not the Welsh Government, are responsible for their own staff employment and terms and conditions. Local Authorities are required to secure approval of full council for exit packages.
