What discussions has the Welsh Government had with the UK Government about expanding the free travel cards programme for pensioners to a model similar to the all-Ireland free travel scheme?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Secretary for Transport and North Wales
We continue to provide free concessionary travel on local bus services in Wales. Passes are also valid for travel on cross border bus services operating between Wales and England. Our prime focus remains on encouraging eligible pass holders to use their passes for journeys in Wales. We remain open to discussions with the UK Government and the other devolved administrations about possible reciprocal travel arrangements if funding can be identified.
