What steps is the Cabinet Secretary taking to monitor vaccine wastage in Wales in the current financial year?

The Welsh Government has no direct role in monitoring vaccine wastage. The UKHSA procures most vaccines used in Wales and health boards are responsible for deployment, which includes maximising uptake and minimising vaccine waste.
The NHS Executive’s Vaccination Programme Wales provides assurance on health board deployment and routinely reports directly to Welsh Government. This forms part of the governance structure introduced through the implementation of the National Immunisation Framework.
