What steps is the Welsh Government taking to ensure neurodivergent children receive adequate support in schools?

Atebwyd gan Cabinet Secretary for Education
In line with our commitment to inclusive education, I expect all school pupils to be given the opportunity to succeed and have access to an education that meets their needs and enables them to participate in, benefit from, and enjoy learning.
An important part of the work undertaken through the Neurodivergence Improvement Programme is to ensure that staff in schools have the necessary training and skills to support children who may be neurodiverse, providing early help and making timely referrals to assessment when needed.
Where a neurodivergent condition amounts to a disability, schools will be under a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure those pupils are treated fairly.
Additionally, where a neurodivergent pupil has an additional learning need, they will be entitled to a statutory plan of support that describes and secures the additional learning provision they require.
