Is it the Welsh Government's view that the fees paid by international students are essential for the financial sustainability of universities in Wales?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Minister for Further and Higher Education
International students are vitally important to the financial and intellectual health of our universities. International students are a huge net contributor to the UK and Welsh economy.
However international recruitment is heavily influenced by geopolitical factors, currency fluctuations and competitor activity. Universities need to ensure their long-term financial sustainability and plan to avoid being over reliant on international students as a source of revenue.
