What measures will the Welsh Government put in place to grow the construction sector in 2025-26?

Atebwyd gan Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Energy and Planning
The Welsh Government's Draft Budget for 2025-26 outlines several initiatives aimed at bolstering the construction sector: Prioritising public services, economic growth, and support for small businesses. With an additional £1.5 billion in funding, the £26 billion budget marks a significant step toward recovery and investment following years of fiscal constraints. Following the derisory £1m increase in our capital budget in the last year of the Conservative Government, under the new Labour Government our capital spending will exceed £3 billion for the first time at the Draft Budget stage, enabling transformative investments in education, healthcare, housing, and infrastructure.
