How is the Welsh Government encouraging the replacement of domestic gas boilers with more sustainable heating systems?

Atebwyd gan Cabinet Secretary for Housing and Local Government
The foundations of our policy on heat decarbonisation is set out in the Heat Strategy for Wales. Our freephone Warm Homes Nest Advice Line and Climate Action Wales website support households with hints and tips on home energy. The Green Homes Wales scheme supports owner occupiers with access to low-cost finance and retrofit assessments. I have earmarked £3 million to continue this pilot into next financial year.
We are currently reviewing permitted development rights for air source heat pumps, to simplify regulations and promote wider take up of the technology.
We have supported the production of local area energy plans across Wales, providing evidence on the most appropriate future heating solutions to support engagement with local communities.
We are also engaging the UK Government to discuss key areas of policy that are not devolved.
