Further to WQ95692, will the Cabinet Secretary detail the timeframe by when a decision on producing medical radioisotopes in Trawsfynydd will be made?

Atebwyd gan Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Energy and Planning
The most recent studies on the Advanced Radioisotopes Technology for Health Utility Reactor (ARTHUR) Programme (the Feasibility Study Report and the draft Outline Business Case) have recently been completed. A review of the documents by senior officials has identified that further evidence will be necessary to strengthen the business case and allow an investment decision to be made. This is particularly critical in light of recent government announcements on spending pressures across the UK.
Work will therefore continue on the business case, focussing on developing the health impact and socio-economic assessments, to more clearly articulate the case for change. This work is being undertaken in preparation for the next full spending review.
