What is the Welsh Government doing to address the rising costs of temporary accommodation in Wales?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Secretary for Housing and Local Government
Tackling homelessness and delivering more homes is a key priority for this government and we have allocated record levels of funding this Senedd term in support of this.
This includes record levels of funding in the Housing Support Grant which will be increased by £21m in 2025/26 to support people to sustain tenancies and prevent homelessness. We have also allocated an additional £81m for more homes through both the Social Housing Grant and Transitional Accommodation Capital Programme, which will help deliver much needed affordable homes and assist in reducing our reliance on temporary accommodation.
