What consultation and engagement work will be carried out with the third sector in developing a cardiovascular disease prevention programme in Wales?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care
Public Health Wales is working with the NHS Wales Executive to develop a secondary prevention programme for cardiovascular disease. The Cardiovascular Prevention Steering Group aims to improve how health boards can identify and optimise secondary prevention in those known to have cardiovascular risk and to identify those with previously unrecognised risk.
Engagement in the early stages of establishing the Steering Group included the British Heart Foundation and the Stroke Association. The Foundation are also represented on the NHS Executive’s Strategic Clinical Network for Cardiovascular Disease, which is part of the Steering Group. As recommendations are developed, further engagement is planned with third sector organisations.
