What discussions has the Cabinet Secretary had with Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board about increasing car parking provision at Wrexham Maelor Hospital?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care
Health boards are the statutory bodies responsible for their estate, which includes the operation and management of their hospital car parks. I have not had any discussions with Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board about increasing car parking provision at any of its hospital sites.
The Welsh Health Circular WHC (2018)010) – Car Parking Management – Guidance for NHS Wales sets out the Welsh Government’s recommended best practice guidance for health boards to operate hospital car parks.
However, there is no one standard approach as access and parking issues differ across hospital sites. Health boards are therefore best placed to consider what measures are appropriate to support parking and access to their services.
