The Heat Strategy for Wales outlines a range of policies to support the installation of heat pumps in homes and businesses. In addition, the Boiler Upgrade Scheme offers grant funding of up to £7,500 and is open to domestic and non-domestic properties in Wales and England.
We encourage households in Wales to contact Nest to get free advice on energy efficiency measures and check if they are eligible for further support through the Warms Homes Programme, which has a budget of £35million for 2025-2026. The Green Homes Wales Scheme managed by the Development Bank of Wales will also support eligible households make energy efficiency improvements to their home, and has a budget of £3 million for 2025-2026.
In addition, businesses can apply to the Development Bank of Wales for a green business loan to support their decarbonisation proposals. The Business Wales website has a business finance zone offering specialised guidance and information to help people identify appropriate finance as well as a finance locator.
