What discussions has the Cabinet Secretary had with the UK Government about disruptions caused by roadworks on the Prince of Wales Bridge?

Atebwyd gan Cabinet Secretary for Transport and North Wales
The former Cabinet Secretary with responsibility for Transport, the Deputy Minister for Climate Change, wrote to the then UK Government Transport Cabinet Secretary in March 2024 to highlight concerns associated with National Highways works on the Prince of Wales Bridge. This letter raised the potential impacts to Wales and requested that the works should be planned sympathetically regarding events across Wales, particularly those major events on the South Wales Corridor. The correspondence also highlighted that works should take care not to increase travel time in summer periods. Support to the project team was offered and my officials have worked alongside National Highways, reviewing programme and issues relating to engineering matters for the duration of the works.
