What discussions has the Cabinet Secretary had with Hybu Cig Cymru about the rise in the red meat levy?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs
In accordance with the delegation agreement, Hybu Cig Cymru (HCC) advise Welsh Ministers by making recommendations on the levy rates for the following financial year.
In March 2025, I received a recommendation from the Board of HCC for a 3.3% levy increase implemented from the start of the Financial Year 2025/2026. The increase is in line with the Consumer Price Index including owner occupiers' housing costs (CPIH), annual inflation rate in the preceding calendar year.
