In the context of the Women's Health Plan for Wales launched in December 2024, which includes period health, was any consideration given to the use of chemicals in period products which can disrupt the endocrine system, including phthalates, phenols and parabens, as well as 'forever chemicals' such as polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)?

The NHS Women’s Health Plan is the NHS response to the Quality Statement for Women’s and Girls’ Health. It focuses on specific priority areas where a need for improvement in service delivery has been identified. Menstrual health is one of the priority areas with eight key actions.
The UK has a comprehensive regulatory framework in place to ensure products are safe before they are placed on the market. Period products are regulated by the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.
