What representations has the Cabinet Secretary made to the UK Climate Change Committee on its lack of focus on the marine environment in the May 2025 report on Wales' Fourth Carbon Budget?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs
We are reviewing the advice carefully and, alongside other evidence required by the Environment (Wales) Act 2016, will use it to inform setting Wales’ fourth carbon budget in regulations.
Any potential impacts on the marine environment through future decarbonisation policies would be considered and addressed appropriately through the relevant consenting regimes, and informed by marine planning policy, where they relate to marine developments.
