Data regarding the teaching workforce including vacancies and applications per post per subject can be found in our school workforce census statistical release at School Workforce Census results: as at November 2023 | GOV.WALES and on StatsWales. The next scheduled release will be 16 July.
Data on initial teacher education recruitment can be found at Initial teacher education | GOV.WALES. Due to issues in receiving data from the Higher Education Statistical Authority (HESA), statistics for 2022/23 academic year were delayed. Officials are working to publish both data for the 2022/23 and 2023/24 academic years as soon as possible.
