What discussions has the Cabinet Secretary had with the Minister for Culture, Skills and Social Partnership or the UK Government's Minister of State for Skills, Apprenticeships and Higher Education regarding the availability and development of the skilled workforce needed to deliver rail infrastructure projects in Wales?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Secretary for Transport and North Wales
I have regular discussions with fellow Cabinet members regarding the requirements for delivering transport infrastructure projects in Wales.
Transport for Wales has a robust workforce development strategy in place to build a pipeline of talent to deliver our transport priorities now and into the future. This includes apprenticeship and graduate schemes, partnerships with industry and educational institutions and pathways such as the ‘On the Right Track’ rehabilitation programme. Building on Welsh Government policy objectives, these initiatives play a crucial role in helping to develop and retain a skilled workforce here in Wales.
