What consideration has the Cabinet Secretary given to working with the UK Government to deliver a unified single approach to tackling bluetongue disease?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs
The Welsh Government is in close contact with the UK Government on Bluetongue control arrangements.
Given the uncertainty about the severity of the disease in livestock dense countries like Wales and the impact of Bluetongue on herd and flock productivity and fertility; it is not feasible to conduct an economic impact assessment at this time. The latest Bluetongue information can be found online at Bluetongue virus (BTV) | GOV.WALES.
