How does the Welsh Government plan to deal with incidental findings of coronary artery calcium during any future lung cancer screening programme, and does this approach differ from how it will deal with incidental findings of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease?

The Welsh Government follows the independent, expert advice of the UK National Screening Committee which does not currently recommend screening for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The national targeted lung screening programme announced on 28 June will have standard protocols in place for the management of incidental findings, including COPD and coronary artery calcification.
