How many local authorities and national park authorities have a destination management plan or similar, and what requirement is there on these bodies to possess such a plan?

Atebwyd gan Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Energy and Planning
There is no legal requirement for Local Authorities or National Park Authorities (NPAs) to produce their own destination management plans (DMPs), however there is an expectation that they set out their priorities as a visitor destination. The arrangements differ between areas however most Local Authorities or area-based Tourism Associations have a DMP in place or are currently in the process of updating them.
Eryri and Pembrokeshire Coast NPAs are contributories to wider DMPs with partners including Local Authorities, and Bannau Brycheiniog is developing its Sustainable Tourism Strategy to move more towards a DMP.
