What action is the Welsh Government taking to reduce the number of road traffic accidents on the A55 trunk road in Flintshire, and to address the congestion they cause?

Atebwyd gan Cabinet Secretary for Transport and North Wales
We are undertaking a study into the transport needs and resilience of the A55, along with the A494. This will develop a robust, evidence-led and multi-modal understanding of transport challenges and opportunities along this corridor along with potential interventions to address them. The study will focus on safety, connectivity, resilience, accessibility, operational performance, climate resilience and supporting economic growth.
To minimise the delays caused by incidents and breakdowns along the A55 corridor we operate a Traffic Officer service for 365 days a year who can quickly remove vehicles / obstructions from the roadside to improve traffic flows. Our Traffic Wales communication service also provides the travelling public with ‘live’ information regarding journey times and delays / incidents to assist with journey planning.
