Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Secretary for Transport and North Wales
We continue to provide significant funding to support the Concessionary Travel Card scheme which offers eligible passengers free or discounted travel for local bus and selected rail services in Wales. During the last financial year, approximately 28 million journeys were made by holders of a Concessionary Travel pass in Wales. Through Transport for Wales, we have taken steps to improve integration between rail and bus services in Wales as we continue to make progress on our ambitious proposals for Bus Reform.
Transport for Wales initiatives such as Pay-As-You-Go ticketing, Advance Fares and railcards offer discounted rail travel options for all passengers, including those over 50, making rail travel more affordable and accessible. Our £800m investment in new rolling stock, over £1bn transformation of the Core Valley Lines infrastructure and delivery of our Network North Wales vision is improving accessibility, delivering faster and more frequent rail services and connecting communities across Wales.
