Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Secretary for Education
This budget line supports action to implement and deliver the requirements contained in our statutory guidance for schools, the framework for embedding a whole school approach to emotional and mental wellbeing.
Funding supports a range of activity including over £3m annually to support provision of school based counselling, which saw almost 14,000 children and young people in the 2023-24 academic year. Funding also maintains education workforce wellbeing support provided via Education Support, research and evaluation led by the School Health Research Network enabling us to ensure activity is having the intended impact, and some internal programme costs.
Funding from the Education Group is also complimented by funding from the Health and Social Services Group
