What plans does the Welsh Government have to update planning guidance and policy to address the potential health impacts of infrasound from wind turbines?

Atebwyd gan Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Energy and Planning
Updates to Planning Guidance are based on robust evidence. Current policy in respect of wind turbine noise assessments is contained in the Noise and Soundscape Plan for Wales 2023 to 2028, which was informed by a review by UK Government in 2023.
The UK Government has recently held a consultation on updating the current wind turbine noise assessment method, which closed at the end of August. We await the outcome of this consultation to consider what changes may be appropriate regarding noise assessment methodology.
