What work is the Welsh Government undertaking to improve accessibility to intravenous antibiotic medications?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care
We are committed to providing equitable access to intravenous antibiotic medications wherever clinically appropriate. Access may be through a variety of services across different settings including increasing provision of Outpatient Parenteral Antibiotic Therapy (OPAT) services, which enable people to access effective antibiotic treatment at home and facilitates earlier discharge from hospital. Health boards and NHS trusts deliver and manage these services in line with the needs of their populations.
