Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Secretary for Transport and North Wales
I am pleased to advise that we have recently confirmed approval of the Full Business Case (FBC) for Cardiff Crossrail Phase 1a and match-funding of up to £50m.
Phase 1a of the Cardiff Council-led Crossrail project is set to be completed in summer 2028. This will connect Cardiff Central to Cardiff Bay station and includes the construction and installation of a third platform at Cardiff Bay station. The delivery of an extension and a new station at Pierhead Street is not funded and is not included within the scope for Cardiff Crossrail Phase 1a. No commitments have been made to Cardiff Crossrail beyond the delivery of Phase 1a.
