Will the Cabinet Secretary confirm whether producers will have to change their labels under the Welsh Government’s deposit return scheme proposals for single use glass, including having to add barcodes to their labels?

Atebwyd gan Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs
The Deposit Return Scheme includes a three-year grace period for single-use glass containers, which will apply from the scheme’s launch which is planned for October 2027. During this period no labelling requirements will apply to single use glass drinks containers, including barcodes and scheme logos. This transitional phase will allow time for the piloting of reuse and provide producers with time to adapt before the full scheme requirements come into effect.
