What support is the Welsh Government providing health boards to reduce long waits for children and young people?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care
The commitment and investment made this year to clear long waits and reduce waits is for all ages and we have seen the reduction in long waits for children’s pathways show the same significant reduction.
Children’s waits are reported as part of the official statistics publication on StatsWales here:
NHS waiting lists: pathways waiting 26 weeks, 36 weeks, one year and two years, September 2011 onwards | StatsWales
We have delivered a significant reduction in children’s long waits, cutting two‑year pathways by over 90% since April 2022 — clear evidence that our investment, oversight, and partnership with the NHS are delivering real results for families.
