What support is the Welsh Government offering to local authorities to assist with expenses relating to the purchasing and demolition of homes that are at high risk of flooding?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs
The Welsh Government does not provide specific funding to local authorities for the purchasing and demolition of homes that are at high risk of flooding. Local authorities are able to use Revenue Support Grant provided by Welsh Government and other funding flexibly to build community resilience in the face of climate change.
In addition, local authorities have a duty to support families with urgent housing requirements. If there are families who require housing support, I would encourage them to contact their local authority directly.
