Medr’s latest data indicates that funding for apprenticeships with 30% or more Welsh medium delivery has remained broadly stable in recent years.
Since August 2021, programmes delivering at least 30% of their learning in Welsh have had a combined fundable value of £32 million, representing around 5% of total apprenticeship funding each year. This proportion has remained consistent since 2021/22, with Welsh‑medium uplift payments also remaining steady, averaging £77 per learner per month for programmes with over 50% Welsh‑medium delivery, and £39 per month for programmes where 30–49% of learning is through the medium of Welsh.
