Will the Cabinet Secretary provide an update regarding the inclusion of data on cases of damp and damage in the social landlord regulation survey?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Secretary for Housing and Local Government
The quarterly regulatory survey, which is issued to all social landlords, includes data on all open cases of damp and mould, Emergency Repairs completed on time, Routine repairs outstanding per property and Disrepair cases that are open. Landlords are required to report both the number of affected properties and the percentage of their total housing stock this represents.
From 1 April 2026, coinciding with the introduction of the rule within WHQS relating to the investigating and remedying of hazards, the quarterly survey will be revised to require all social landlords to report on all hazards, including damp and mould, including whether these have been assessed and remedied.
The Regulation Team closely monitors this information to identify trends and assess whether cases are increasing or decreasing over time. This information is published on a quarterly basis.
