Will the Welsh Government bring forward an independent Wales-wide inquiry into grooming gangs during this Senedd term?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Minister for Social Justice and Equality (Sioned Williams)
Following the publication of Baroness Casey’s audit into grooming gangs in June 2025, the UK Government established a national inquiry covering England and Wales, alongside Operation Beaconport as the national policing response.
The Welsh Government will continue to monitor the work and progress of both the UK inquiry and Operation Beaconport and consider any further action needed in light of this.
