Will the Cabinet Minister confirm how many patients in Wales with neovascular age-related macular degeneration are waiting more than the NICE recommended two weeks from referral to treatment?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Minister for Health and Care (Mabon ap Gwynfor)
The Welsh Government does not hold centrally validated data on the number of patients waiting longer than the NICE-recommended two weeks from referral to treatment for neovascular age-related macular degeneration.
Health boards are responsible for managing this information and prioritising patients based on clinical need.
Work is underway to improve data quality, transparency and performance management to support timely access to treatment in line with clinical guidance.
