How will the Welsh Government ensure that British citizens are prioritised for housing over asylum seekers and people who are in this country illegally?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Minister for Local Government, Housing and Planning (Siân Gwenllian)
Housing allocations in Wales are the responsibility of the local housing authority and are made in accordance with Part 6 of the Housing Act 1996. Asylum seekers are accommodated by the Home Office and do not receive priority over individuals eligible for housing and homelessness support in Wales. Immigration is not devolved and remains the responsibility of the UK Government.
