What discussions has the Welsh Government had with supermarkets regarding food price inflation?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Minister for Enterprise, Connectivity and Energy (Adam Price)
The Welsh Government engages with major food retailers through regular roundtables and structured meetings to advise and engage across the food chain. We also engage with UK Government, Devolved Administrations and representative bodies such as the Wales Retail Consortium, the Food and Drink Federation Cymru and key stakeholders.
Discussions have highlighted rising costs across the supply chain, including labour, energy and logistics, as a key driver of food price inflation. They have also covered global supply disruption, impacts on availability and the effects on household affordability.
