Will the Welsh Government consider consulting with the UK Government on updating driving vision standards in all groups and not just those aged 70 and over, to avoid preventable deaths?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Deputy Minister for Transport (Mark Hooper)
The UK government is introducing mandatory eye tests for drivers over the age of 70, due to the rising number of collisions involving drivers in this age group.
Officials along with the Welsh Government Chief Optometric Adviser are in discussions with the UK Government to see what can be done to expand driving vision standards to other age groups in the future.
