What is the Welsh Government doing to ensure that new direct train services will be delivered between west Wales and Bristol?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Deputy Minister for Transport (Mark Hooper)
I am committed to improving connectivity for people across Wales and the borders as part of a modern integrated transport network. Transport for Wales have developed a proposal for direct rail service between West Wales and Bristol that will be economically beneficial for South Wales and the South West of England and will enable more opportunities for commuting, leisure and tourism journeys by rail. I will be raising the importance of this new service proposal with the UK Government when I meet with Rail Minister in the coming weeks.
