What support does the Welsh Government provide to men diagnosed with prostate cancer?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Minister for Health and Care (Mabon ap Gwynfor)
The NHS offers men a comprehensive package of care and support for the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer in line with NICE recommended clinical practice (Overview | Prostate cancer: diagnosis and management | Guidance | NICE).
Our national approach focuses on improving the timeliness of investigation and treatment, as measured by the cancer waiting time.
We have made a commitment to introduce a new Cancer Plan for Wales, including a focus on early detection, and preparatory work is already underway to take this forward.
