What is the Welsh Government doing to improve access to banking facilities in west Wales?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Minister for Social Justice and Equality (Sioned Williams)
Financial services are reserved matters. Banking services, including the provision of shared banking hubs, are led at a UK level and Welsh Government is not directly involved in their delivery or funding. The Welsh Government recognises the impact of bank branch closures on communities across Wales and is engaged with the regulator (FCA) and responsible UK Government Ministers in relation to these matters, and we will engage with the recently announced UK Government-led independent review into access to in‑person banking services.
