What funding does the Welsh Government provide health boards for services for people with Long Covid?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Minister for Health and Care (Mabon ap Gwynfor)
Services for people with long Covid are provided through the Adferiad (Recovery) Programme, launched in 2021. Welsh Government provided £5 million per year of non-recurrent funding from 2021 to 2023. In 2023, this became recurrent funding and increased to £8 million to support the continued development of services and wider access for people with other post-infection associated chronic illnesses, including Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME), and those with similar persistent physical symptoms without a diagnostic label. Services continue to develop across Wales.
