What assessment has the Cabinet Minister made of the need to rebuild the University Hospital of Wales so that patients have the modern, safe and world-class facilities they deserve, and NHS staff have a workplace that matches their dedication?

Atebwyd gan Cabinet Minister for Health and Care (Mabon ap Gwynfor)
The Welsh Government has provided funding for Cardiff & Vale University Health Board to conduct a condition survey of the University Hospital of Wales site. My officials will continue to support the Health Board as they prioritise the highest risks that have been identified through this survey. The survey findings will also inform the development of the Health Board plans for the site to ensure services continue to be delivered in a safe and appropriate way. The feasibility of any future health infrastructure projects will have to be carefully considered in the context of the substantial NHS Estate maintenance backlog inherited from the previous administration.
