Will the Cabinet Minister explain why the primary care pathway for Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS) and hypermobility spectrum disorders has not yet been published, and set out a timetable for its implementation across Wales?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Minister for Health and Care (Mabon ap Gwynfor)
A Community Health Pathway for Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes (EDS) and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (HSD) has been developed through multidisciplinary collaboration, including clinical experts and patient representation.
All Community Health Pathways must be approved through established national governance arrangements, including with primary care representatives, before publication. This ensures they are clinically robust, reflect current practice and are deliverable across NHS Wales.
The EDS and HSD pathway is progressing through this process and has not yet secured the clinical agreement required for publication. Work is continuing with relevant partners to address outstanding issues and support final agreement. I am therefore unable to confirm a publication date at this stage.
