Will the Cabinet Minister provide an update on current audiology waiting times across Wales, and what is being done to ensure consistent access to high quality audiology services?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Minister for Health and Care (Mabon ap Gwynfor)
We recognise the impact long waits can have on people’s quality of life, and reducing the inherited long waiting times remains our priority. While recent updates show improvement in some audiology pathways, variation persists between health boards, and further action is required to ensure sustained improvements and equitable access across Wales.
The Future Approach for Audiology Services (December 2025) sets out a programme of reform to improve access, quality, and consistency of care. This approach focuses on transforming services to better meet population need and support sustainable reductions in waiting times.
