Will the Cabinet Minister confirm what support the Welsh Government is offering to abattoirs?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Minister for Rural Resilience and Sustainability (Llyr Gruffydd)
The red meat sector is an important part of the Food and Drink industry in Wales, with abattoirs being an integral part connecting primary production to food manufacturing. Hybu Cig Cymru (HCC) and the Welsh Government work closely to support improved productivity and the development of routes to market for Welsh lamb, beef and pork. Several abattoirs have taken advantage of the Food Business Accelerator Scheme for capital funding support, and I encourage them to take up any future schemes.
