What consideration has the Cabinet Minister given to making representations to the UK Treasury about designating the port of Newport a freeport?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Minister for Enterprise, Connectivity and Energy (Adam Price)
Freeports in Wales were selected through a joint Welsh Government and UK Government competitive process, which resulted in the designation of the Celtic Freeport and Anglesey Freeport. Welsh Government's priority is to work with partners to maximise the benefits of those Freeports and realise the investment, employment and regeneration opportunities they are expected to bring.
The programme for designating Freeports in Wales has now closed.
